Culinary alumni complete certifications

Several graduates of Athens Technical College’s Culinary Arts program have earned certifications that were completed and approved at the college’s Culinary Arts facility on the Walton County campus, November 5.
Kareen Torres, Cassie Weiss, Keyounes Whaley, Laura Motes all achieved Certified Culinarian and Certified Pastry Culinarian. The Certification exercise was overseen by Lead Evaluator Elizabeth Baase, Athens Technical College adjunct instructor, C.E.C., A.C.E., A.A.C.; Athens County Club Executive Chef Chris McCook, C.E.C., A.C.E., A.A.C.; and Chef Bill Hewett, C.E.C., A.C.E., instructor at the Art Institute of Atlanta.
The Athens Technical College Culinary Arts program has had 12 alumni achieve certification in the last 18 months.
In other news, the college’s Culinary Arts program has been approved as an American Culinary Federation testing center through Comira Testing
